Railroad Accident
John Fehan, a laborer on the Midland Railroad, met with a serious and
singular accident on Saturday last. Being in the caboose of a work train on the Branch,
in company with others, who were "fooling", and throwing water upon each other,
Fehan escaped from the caboose, and while climbing the ladder to its top, he was struck
by the spout of the Beaver Meadow water tank, which the train was then passing, and
knocked to the ground, falling upon his back. He was brought to this village, and is
now under the care of Dr. Mosher. No bones were broken, and the patient is doing well.
