From the Cortland Standard of Cortland, NY Tuesday, June 4, 1872
The Midland put in a turn-table on Sunday, just west of
Pendleton street. Their grading across the Randall meadow to unite with the
Utica, Ithaca & Elmira R.R. was completed last week. A few days will see
the connection made.
The Truxton branch of the Midland has been put in good repair
and we may expect soon to see regular passenger trains between this place and
Norwich. The road bed was considerably damaged by high water in the Spring, but
the repairs will obviate this difficulty hereafter.
